Leila has been recognized as an outstanding lawyer by being named winner of the Regional/Suburban Lawyer of the Year at the Australian Law Awards. Leila has been a lawyer since 1996. She uses the extensive skillset developed on major projects (up to $500 million) to provide community family law education and assist clients settle sensibly and get out of court. Leila holds a current principal's practising certificate and is a registered practitioner of the High Court. Leila is also a Legalwise presenter providing continuing professional development to other lawyers. Her community legal projects include founder of Family Law 101, Australia's family law education platform supporting more than 20,000 separated parties learn how to navigate the family court system. Leila provides a free helpline in her hometown of Cloncurry to the justice association to assist our indigenous community. Leila is an administrator of a national family lawyers platform which provides support to over one thousand family lawyers across Australia. Leila was raised in the outback and now lives on a small farm outside of Toowoomba. She has two adult sons and a third son about to get his Ls.
